Cabin Safety Trainer

Position: Cabin Safety Trainer

Location: Calgary, Alberta

Years of Experience Required: Minimum 3 years of airline experience, preferably in a leadership role

Education Level Required: Minimum High School diploma or equivalent, post-secondary education is a definite asset

Requirements

  • Current or former qualified Cabin Crew Member
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience with mentoring, coaching, leading and performance management
  • As per our Alcohol and Drug Policy, all offers of employment for safety-sensitive roles are conditional on passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and background checks
  • Proven attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and resourceful
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills
  • Advanced skills in MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Professionalism and ability to deal with highly sensitive information
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Previous work experience in an administrative role
  • Previous experience working in a mixed union and non-union environment
  • Presentation and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to show leadership in the classroom
  • Energy for long training sessions, often late nights
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Post-Secondary education is an asset
  • Bilingual (an asset)

Responsibilities

  • Provide advice and guidance to all Cabin Crew with respect to standard operating procedures and policies detailed in the Cabin Crew Manual and all Company relevant Manuals
  • Be accountable for leadership responsibilities and development of Cabin Crew
  • Motivate Cabin Crew to achieve the highest standard of safety and customer service by setting performance objectives while guiding individuals progress and growth and adhering to the best practices of performance management
  • Ensure high standards are maintained and follow current regulatory standards
  • Coordinate internal and external audit processes
  • Institute the use of quality assurance principles, including improvement and feedback mechanisms
  • Assist with the recruitment process to custom fit Inflight requirements
  • Assist the Manager, Inflight to develop daily and standard operating procedures
  • Advise the Manager, Inflight, without delay, of training or checking events that indicate substandard performance, and/or deviation from associated regulatory requirements of the approved training program
  • Develop new training programs and maintain current approved training programs for Cabin Crew including training and checking personnel
  • Maintain the Cabin Crew Training Manual, instructor lesson plans
  • Maintain accurate training records for each Cabin Crew Member
  • Establish, promote and maintain effective Safety Management Processes in support of the Company Safety Management System
